Getting ready to finish the basement up and looking to either piece together a battery back up system for the sump pump or maybe buy the kit. Looking at the 1/4hp basement watchdog kit at Home Depot. Anyone have a similar system in place or install one? Thanks!

Don’t buy the kit, that battery is stupid overpriced. Pm me and I’ll get you a better battery for over $100 less.

you're looking at the "frequently bought together" thing that shows what other people bought with the kit.

You’re looking at a system, by you saying kit I assumed you were talking about the frequently bought together

ahh the terminology. yes just looking at the system then.
Ideally I would like to have a setup that doesn't have a 12v backup pump, but rather a good 1/3 - 1/2 hp pump that was both primary and backup.

What group size you looking for? I’d go 27 for 100ah or 31 for 115ah. These are sealed dry cell so you don’t want to discharge them more than 50% to get the maximum amount of cycles over its life span.

    27-$320.99 + tax
    31-$371.39 + tax

    2 year warranty

Firman are relatively new but having been getting good reviews in the cheap category. Rona last year had them on sale for around 400 several times for a 4500w but it was only 120v.

Doing a pump setup for a elderley friend who sells real estate "get me whatever, i sold 3 houses yesterday" lol
so i'm looking into the pump sentry which is a stand alone system that includes; inverter, ac/dc switchover, trickle charger. And this will supply a 1/3 to 1/2 hp sump pump. prices range from $900-1500 for that unit.

Hurricane headed kinda this way for the wknd so i need to get her sorted out because what she has there now belongs on the antique road show
