Yes it is historic and yes it is a sign that there is hope for America but ...

Why is Canadian Radio and TV programming getting preempted to carry the swearing in of the leader of another

The Herald said it will have a special edition tomorrow

is this just some over compensation of WASP guilt?
Is like the thing "I'm not racist I have a black friend"?

I am really starting to dislike the Entertainment Tonight vibe around him

It was the first thing I heard today when I turned the radio on to listen to music while I got ready for work. It's getting pretty annoying.

He's also the first president to make "celebrity" status.

CNN has some horrible programming on him. They had this "eye on the stars" report on him - it was like Entertainment Tonight, but lame and more annoying. "Is this the first cool president?" "Obama - the president of cool." "Is MichelleO the new JackieO?" "We can wait for the first cool presidency." That's seriously the only adjective they used to describe them. And they emphasized it like it was 1995 again.

Although in all I tend to ignore it because I just don't want to hear Bush any more.

I won't be watching the inauguration today though.

Dear Woman who was just on Canada AM,

I understand that you are a brain dead twat. This is a shame. Unfortunatley they mentioned how excited the maritimes are about Obama before cutting to your clip. Good mannerisms and handsomeness are nice, but they are not the most important aspects in a president. IT SURE IS NICE THAT THIS IS ALL YOU MENTIONED, CUNT.

Thanks for making the maritimes look as stupid, shallow and uneducated as you,

    Sincerely,

    elgranto

You'd swear to God he was the second coming of Christ. I hope he fails miserably, be good for a laugh.

"Change" my ass - we'll see how much change he pulls off.

What really boggles my mind is why they feel the need to spend 150 MILLION dollars on a couple day 'party' to swear him in, when the country is in the midst of a recession and the economy is in the shitter. Yes, $150,000,000 really isn't much when you look at their financial state, but really, couldn't that money be put to better use?

They've probably recovered most of that cost for charging $50,000 for VIP tickets to the Inauguration.

I asked one of my clients in Arkansas how he was doing today.
    He replied, "terrible".
    I said, "whys that?"
He said, "its a black day in american history".

I dont think the southerners like Obama.

When Canada, USA and Mexico join, he will be like our co-leader.....thus all the super-extra "interest" given to him in the media. We as Canadians probably don't care 1/10 as much as the media is making it out to be.

Get used to him.....until he gets shot.

I really hope that he will be able to pull half the crap he promised. He is built up so much that it can turn into the largest flop in US history. Which will effect us very negatively.
