ASCC is having a SoloI School/pratice/lapping /testing Day at Atlantic Motorsport Park on Sunday, October 26, starting at 9:30am, rain or shine. The organizer is Derek Lugar from Vantage Motors. Cost is $50.00 per car for the whole day. The more people the better. Here is your chance to drive your own car on the track at AMP and get some great on-track instruction for a very low cost . All that is required is a helmet and a worthy car. Non club members can purchase a 1-day membership at the track for only $10.00. New members and beginners are very welcome and encouraged to get involved and have some fun at the track. So tell a friend and bring a friend. Anyone wishing to enter this event, please call Derek at W 895-5383 or H 897-2783. Because of JUAN there is NO washroom facilities at this time. This is your chance to get on the track.
Shit, I wasn't expecting one last hurrah for the season! Hrmm, looks like I now have plans on Sunday! Thanks for the post Paul!!!
I was just talking to Derek, the event is full at this time. If you were in contact with Derek, then you should be ok, but I think they are maxed at the moment. I will post again later today if I know any more.
In like my penis in Boots's sister. Derek is the man, he squeezed Joe and I both in, see you Sunday morning. I Hope I don't have too much of a hangover, Haloween party at the Shore Club sat night
I will be there with R compounds on, giving rides, I think I may be helping with instruction in the morning a bit too. Seeya there..
On the track boyee! Yea paul, marc morin tells me you use interesting lines, especially on turn 1! I'd love to ride along!!
On the track... I don't borrow peoples rides and they don't borrow mine. If my car's going sideways into a concrete wall, I'd at least like to be the one to do it instead of watch someone else do it
NONONONO. I won't be driving. I'll just be sitting in the passanger seat having a great time. I never ask to drive other people's cars. Only when they're insistent on offering do I take them up. I'd just like to get in a few laps...weather it be in the passanger seat or the trunk! [Mavrik & Goose] I got a need....a NEED FOR SPEED!![/Mavrik & Goose]
An instructor will quite likely do a few laps in your car, don't worry about this though, it won't be anything crazy.
Goddammit... I'm not back from Newfoundland until 2pm on Sunday afternoon. Ahh well... have fun without me guys.
The instructor at the Solo school scared the hell out of me driving my car, but that was the fun part! Gave me new insight into what my car could do It was more fun when I got a chance though.
Just to warm you guys up, here is a lap of AMP in the race car. The quality is messed, I had the camera all fucked up. I am short shifting in the vid, we were running a low rev limit last year on the old motor, this years motor has about 100hp more, and 1200rpm more to play with. http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/i=wNDg1NjQ2czQxM2RmZDMxeTU0MQ==
Why would you be confused? At no time did anybody say anything other then the fact that Joe would let anybody drive his car.
I thought everyone was being sarcastic! Stop giving me a hard time ya bum! Thanks for the offer joe. I don't know if i'll be able to make it out (SOOO much shcool work), but if I do, I may take you up on it. Just a couple of laps though....easy laps at that.
Well, the day was pretty fun! Lots of cars, a couple of spins, a one REALLY close call....almost had a smashed mustang on the front straight! I'd like to say thanks for Paul M. & Nick L. for letting me ride along with them. I'd like to especially thank Joe for letting me take his car around for a couple of laps. FWD, street tires, and a notchy 3rd gear are things I'm not used to on AMP....which also contributed to my wide-turn on turn 2 and my subsequent slide on turn 3. But that car pulls I tells ya!
