For those of you who collect, what do you use them on? And do you find it easy to redeem them?
i never get that many couple hundred a year I usually just get giftcards
I've been collecting since 2003 and I have 157 Airmiles.
I have close 10k (hell yeah) and will spending no plane tickets to Europe this summer. They are not too hard to redeem but remember that you will still have to pay the taxes on your ticket. Also they might have some black out periods depending on where you are flying and when.
If you find your self little short for the thing you want to get, you can pay the difference your self.
I use them to fly.
Back up to about 8,400 after being down to 0 last year.
*Knock on wood* I haven't had any problems in the past redeeming the points.
Very good to know about having to pay the taxes on flights.
I've got just under 11,000
I don't use them though
I will one day...
im an airmiles junkie. i go out of my way to use airmile sponsored shops to get more lol. ive had no trouble getting them redeemed when ive used them.
i've had my card since 99 and i think i may have enough air miles to fly from one end of the runway to the other
it seems from what i understand, you need a minimum purchase at some stores just to get one! I think its $25 at sobeys
yeah if you try to collect it from Sobeys it is going to take a while. I have a CC that gives me Airmiles (which I use heavily when I travel) also my BMO debit card gives me miles, plus I have a Airmiles card which I attach to every flight I take so I get the miles.
In stores that gives out you can pay with your Airmiles CC and also show them you airmiles card so that you get double points
no, its any purchase, it actually accumulates over time, so if you buy something for $10 one day then soemthing for $15 the next week, you`ll still get an airmile.
you can get debit cards (like Duke said) from bmo, that will give you an airmile for every $40 you spend, (same as above accumulated). then a mastercard that will do the same (if you pay the annual fee, you can also get one that will give you an airmile for every $15 you spend).
i average about 150 airmiles a month from various ways, and its really not that hard.
got an email today. 1541
I cant check how many I have online, because it tells me my birthdate is wrong.
I'm pretty sure I KNOW WHAT MY BIRTHDAY IS.
I don't get that many, mainly from Sobeys and Global Pet Foods. I use them for movie passes.
I've ordered some sobeys gift certs, and a magazine subscription. Super easy to use, and they came relatively quick (the magazine didn't, but thats to be expected)
At sobeys it's one airmile for every 20$ but it is only weekly (Sunday-Saturday) and then it resets.
Call them. they should be able to fix it.
ok. did know this.. thx
