A wideband, isn't in my budget. Which of the two would be better for monitoring(not tuning) the A/F ratios? The use I am looking for is when I'm under boost it can be warning if I need to take my foot off the gas.
If your not getting a wide band, get the EGT. A regular a/f is no wheres near as accurate as you need it to be.
How hard would it be to rig up some warning LED on an EGT gauge, cause I know I won't be watching the gauges all the time. The light would get my attention.
hmm..im sure you could. not sure how though. You wouldnt really have to watch em all the time, just id say when under boost a quick glance to make sure your safe. Did a quick search and came up with this. looks like it comes with a warning light. http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/greddy_egt_gauges/
My Greddy Peak/Warn guages all have a user adjustable warn light. I think the EGT runs about $250 though. I got Boost, EGT, Oil Pressure and a guage pod for $350 on ebay.
Could I custom rig one? Hard to say though without seeing a wiring diagram of how the voltages on the EGT probe are setup.
