not bad at all i was thinking this had to be done! it was an awesome car but when the 350z came out for CHEAPER, with better looks, 17's (or 18's?) and more hp why would you get a s2000? good they beefed up the wheels. only dissapointing thing is the hp still, yah it is lower rpm but if it was the same rpm like 7,700 where it is going to be but even a hp bump up to 250 or 260
I likey... Nice to see that they made the power a little more useable, and you don't have to drive it quite so hard to run decent times. I still tend to lean toward the 350Z though. Isn't it supposed to be coming out in a convertible version for 2004?
I'm not liking the 8k redline...but maybe my element will grow up an dbe one of those soon......(the cost not that much less then a used S for tha tmatter......)
whats the red line matter anyways? your rev limiter kicks in before that my peak power on my car is at 7,400 rpm and the red line goes all the way up to 9 but it kicks out way before that.
exactly mine cuts out way before 9k rpm so why bother? i guess it is the spedo saying it goes 260 when it cuts out around 200
Your car redlines at 7900 rpm. You couldn't take it to 9 grand if you wanted to. The previous gen S2000 redlined at 9000rpm
greg...jeebus. our cars redline at 7900rpm...AT THE START OF THE RED. The rev-limiter is at 8200. The S2000 redlined at 8900rpm, and went to 9100 (i think?)...an extra 1000rpm is significant.
Woohoo, this new gen S2K just gets me closer to be able to afford a used 1st gen s2k in the future! Resalve value gets bumped down once again!
yeah i realize it's gonna be pretty fast, just the fact that it has 2/3 the torque that it has horsepower. just another hondas have no torque post
what is there to get? he is saying the exact same thing as me it shows 9k rpm max hp in our car is 7,400, redlines at 8 cuts out around 8,200
i know that i'm saying the tach shows the redline till 9k geesh are you folks on drugs or something? .... wait don't answer that.
mine shows the redline to 9500, whats your point? Mine actually has hit 9 before (at least according to the tach) and hits 84-8500 before cut off.. I rarely take it that high though, my max power is at 7600 so I shift at 7900-8k
anyone who says that the s2000 doesn't have enough tq is a moron.. the car drives incredible .... it may have low numbers .. but that not what your thinking when your screaming down the road. and that was the first gen.. the S2200 is going to have much more useable power .. although i'm disappointed in the rev limiter change. S2000 was the funest car i have driven and that included, Viper, C5 Vert, mustangs, cameros, etc.
Here ya go kids..... You can have this, or a Stock 350Z for the same price. What do you choose? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2431778299&category=6253
