Anyone have any reccommendations on decent / reasonably priced cottages on the East end of the island?

Looking in July, for only 3 nights. Looks like alot have 1 week minimum stay!

When in July are you looking to go? The Cavendish Beach Music Fest is July 5-7 and the whole island is tough to book during that time.

Not on the east end, but we stayed here last summer and while the price was gross due to the festival, the spot is great http://kaylascottages.com/ (in New Glasgow).

I don't think we're really looking at any specific area. Just planning a little family trip over while my brother is home from Alberta.

Man I've spent a long week with a girl at a cottage in PEI but can't remember where it was. Had a hot tub and everything. It was near a very touristy drive for all the "Anne Green Gables" shit.

Anne of green gables and all those things are not east though? That is quite a drive.

Well.... hardly. It's only 3 hrs from one end of PEI to the other

Depends if you want to enjoy the "real" Island, or just drive. People miss so much of the real Island because of this.

No shuttle We picked a sober driver every night.

We're trying to find something too and I've been looking since September without any luck for anything less than a week. We paid $900 for 3 nights in 2 bedroom cottage there - the place was awesome, old but cute, and there was a pool we had basically to ourselves, but the price was tough to handle. I looked into what you guys did last year but nothing is available. If you come across anything let me know and I'll do the same

Figured I'd update, my Mother decided and booked us at http://www.lanescottages.com/ in Montague. So we'll see how it goes in July.

They are building a hotel on the adjacent site at the moment and not sure if it will be finished by then. The cottages themselves and the water views are gorgeous but it is in the middle of a trailer park and privacy is a bit lacking.
