Just a reminder that we'll draft this weekend, on Sunday, March 03, 2013 at 8:15pm Atlantic.

I bet most of the jays starting 9 and all 5 of their starters go in the first two rounds![]()

I typically try to avoid employing Jays and Leafs on my fantasy teams.

well to be fair..most people do avoid leafs players....but I digress![]()

I did take JVR late and he's paid off. I'll probably grab a Jay or two.

Holy crap i missed the draft! My apologies! I know how annoying it is when you have to wait the minute and a half for each pick when someone no shows.
Could have got a worse team though i guess. Figures i get 1st pick and then miss the draft.
I don't think we had to wait for 90 seconds for the autopickers. I needed all the time provided so no big deal as far as I'm concerned!
Would you have made the same 1st overall pick had you been there? I'd have taken Cabrera.
Picking fifth, all of the monsters were gone so I grabbed the best pitcher.. Really happy with my pitchers this year

I think i would have still grabbed Trout. He helps out in almost every batting category.
I see you have a few Jays players on your team there TBP.![]()

Cabrera carried my team last season. Astro needs pitching, maybe I can deal for him
I did break my rule and drafted a few Jays. JB and EE need to keep hitting for those picks to work out. Lawrie needs to do better than last year. JPA is an ideal #2 catcher. I try to watch or listen to as many Jays games as I can so it'll be nice to have them, so long as they're hitting and winning, I guess..![]()

All players who weren't drafted on Sunday night have cleared waivers this morning. You're now able to add and drop players. Keep in mind the weekly maximum.

If those guys can work together on the field as good as they can on paper, you'll be laughing.

SO the season starts today. I've sent everyone an email to remind you that you'll need to start setting your lineup regularly, and that it might be a good idea to move your DL-eligible players down to your fantasy team's disabled list.
You'll put yourself at a disadvantage if you don't do these simple things at the beginning of the season. Next thing you know, you haven't logged into the pool in three weeks and efforts are being made to give your team to another manager.

I know a couple of you have multiple leagues, you may be interested in BaseballPress.com's 'My Lineup' tool
even if you aren't in multiple leagues, take a look
The site offers daily starting line ups, most do.. But if you register, you can add your fantasy team's players to a custom list..
So long as you check by game time, you can cut down on starting fantasy players who've got the day off or are injured..
that list is sorted by the players' position in their team's lineup

What's up with this NA roster spot? Should we bother with it?
What NA roster spot? What's NA?
I got four layers of pee-soaked clothes but I’m still condescending
On our league page it says "Yahoo! Sports has added an NA roster spot for this season. Commissioners can add this roster spot even if their league already has drafted."
It's just an extra roster spot for players listed as "NA" by yahoo.
I hadn't clicked on it since i saw it a couple days ago and yeah, it's just players that are listed as "Not Active". Players who are holding out contracts, suspended, on bereavement list, minor leaguers not on 40 man roster, and guys who are injured for long periods of time and they haven't been put on the DL by yahoo.
No harm in adding it. I hadn't noticed it, thanks!
edit: next season... If I added it today, someone (me) will use his one or two NA spots to grab up top prospects right away

No prob! Next season sounds good.
Seems like something alot of managers would be all over for many reasons, but especially for being able to store a prospect or 2 like you mentioned.
I was going to add them this season. I found the page where I make the change, made the change and was about to submit when I popped over to look at the free agents quickly, just to see who was lingering there with NA next to them. Then I thought "Man, I could add all those guys right away!" It would disadvantage everyone who doesn't log in til Tuesday, or whenever, so it didn't seem right to make the change. All that said, I'm thinking more about it.Adding the NA position in Fantasy Baseball

Resolution
New to the Fantasy Baseball game for the 2013 season is the "NA” roster slot. Use the "NA" position position to hold a player, rather than using a bench slot. This is especially useful for leagues that want to hold onto minor league players. In order to add the "NA" slot to your league, add it during registration in the League Settings or from the Commish Tools.
Additional Information
- These roster slots will not affect the 30-man position limit; you will be able to have 0-5 NA slots in addition to 0-5 DL slots.
- Once added, it is not possible to remove or reduce the number of NA spots in the league.
IF I made the change effective immediately, or soon (after we get some consensus here), it wouldn't add any bench spots. We'd still have the same amount of players on all our teams. What I said above about me running out and scooping up all the top NA-eligible guys couldn't happen without me dropping a player from my roster for every one of them I added.
Take TB's Wil Myers. If I wanted to add him today, I'd need to drop someone from my roster. That player would go on waivers for two days before he became a free agent. As soon as I add Myers, I can move him to one of my one, or two (up to five) NA spots. Once I have him in an NA spot, I could go back to the free agent pool and pick up any player.. but not the player I dropped to add Myers.
So we need some consensus on this before anything. Maybe this season, it's not like we're deep into it. Definitely next year!

I think two NA spots is good....if somebody wants to chance losing a player off their roster because of their place in the waiver queue....thats up to them.

You think adding them now vs. next season is appropriate?
I got four layers of pee-soaked clothes but I’m still condescending
sure
Dragon Boat East

We could always add NA spots on a certain day. Say on the 15th of April (or whatever) an NA roster spot(s) will be added to use. Allows players to hear about it and allows their teams to scout players for a few days.
I'm down for however many NA spots, but 2 might be too much no? Maybe just 1? I'll work with whatever is good for the group.
I'd be happy with one or two. No more than that, for sure.
I think the idea of setting a day for it/them to be added.. Monday the 15th is ideal as it's the first day of week 3.
