Damn, I just checked out the Bell Facebook page. They must hate having all that negative stuff be the first thing people see![]()
How long of a contract does this deal bind you to?

Oh it's crazy that Bells usage is combined upload and download of 250gb.
They actually changed their terms if service since launching fibe op. I guess all the proving wrong of the reps I did worked![]()
Currently with Bell Aliant, and we pay about $65 for phone and 7Mbps internet, but that goes up to $85ish in the next month or two. I'm strongly considering switching back to Eastlink and ditching the land line. $50/month for 20Mbps for the first year, $64/month after that. We both have cell phones, and we barely ever use the land line. I also have Bell satellite for the TV, but I'm actually kinda thinking about ditching that and just going back to downloading everything. I could cut my monthly phone/tv/internet bill from $160/month to $50/month and not really be missing anything.
just signed up for eastlink tonight for the new house. 99 $ bundle with dvr and 20mbps internet for 1 year

nothing extravagant but the 99$ for 1 year beats the advertised 99$ for 3 months.

Bell FibreOp $99 for the year. I have Whole home PVR, 2 receivers, HD, Movie Network, SuperChannels, 50/30 internet, home phone. Eastlink was going to give me everything the same but without movie network/superchannels, However was going to include the 80 speed internet.
I went with Bell, wanted the movies plus they included a $300 visa card. I love the variety to it, and my hockey channels. I had to call up and barter with them to get a better package, but totally worth it.
We are making the jump from Eastlink to Bell. Bell gave us an offer we couldn't refuse and Eastlink can't touch it. Magically, we got an expresspost letter in the mail from Eastlink begging us to stay. Sorry Eastlink, even your "deal" last time I gave you that chance is more than this offer.
$99 for the year, no contract, whole home PVR, HD, Movie Network/Superchannels, 50/30 internet, home phone, 3 theme packages free for 3 months, $200 visa card. Only extra cost is $5 for another box.
Sure, I'll give that a go, at least for the year.

thats my plan![]()
Currently on the phone with Aliant to upgrade my internet and phone from High-Speed Ultra (7Mbps) to 20/15 FibreOp. I'm getting a $38/month discount right now as part of the promo I signed up for almost a year ago (which is over in April), and once that is gone it would be cheaper to go with Eastlink. I called to cancel, and they offered me the FibreOp for the same price now, and with a $19/month discount once my current promo is over until April 2014, making it a bit cheaper than Eastlink.
EDIT: Install date is Wednesday next week. I was thinking that I'd be waiting longer than that. Nice!

my first bill was fucked up. I was supposed to get the DVR for 5$. Got charged 14$. Am now getting free for 6 months.

When I called to cancel I told them that it was because I could get faster internet with Eastlink for less than what I'd be paying with Aliant. He put me on hold for a few minutes, and came back with that deal. Free install on the fibre op too (I don't remember what he said it normally costs).
Eastlink has called and left 2 - 3 messages for us and sent us an expresspost letter. I'm honestly done talking with them for now. They won't be able to touch this deal, and the Eastlink whole home PVR blows. You can't set recordings on the upstairs box, you can't delete them. It's terrible.

The Aliant guy was here this afternoon hooking up the FibreOp. Oh my god, I forgot what it was like to have 20Mbps internet7Mbps wasn't horrible, but even webpages load a lot faster now, and I don't have to worry about Netflix hogging all the bandwidth if I'm trying to play something on Xbox Live at the same time.
